july 12
10 minute bike ride to Dan Irelands Organic Meats farm to pick up a side of pork, which is to be divided between my family an 2 others. The BOB on the back of my bike made it manageable enough. I am so lucky to be living here.
I have for years thought to buy my meat locally and last winter I finally planned, formed a 5 person meat co-op, put in an order, and am now reaping the benefits.
I can't tell you how much better it feels to me to be eating local meat instead of Nebraskan CAFO. (confined animal feed operations)
